Bill Fibben was the photographer of the hip community since his days at the Atlanta School of Art. He was the hippie beat photographer for The Great Speckled Bird because he and wife Linda had been among the first Atlanta bohemians to transform into hippies. Bill was truly everybody’s friend.
Where are the photos of the Brick Wall? They were the street peoples band, who also were playing when the riot started in Piedmont Park.
Hey Mike, long time. Well, you were the Brick Wall’s drummer…you should have a few. Oh, I spotted your image on one of the photos featured here or somewhere else. In the caption, they called you Johnny Hatchett. Probably in reference to Johnny Westerfield. I spotted his photo as well.

Before there was ‘the strip’ there was just Middle Earth and the 12th Gate and Tam Duffel playing at The Bottom of The Barrel….and much more. Then there was Snow Flake and Mother David and Acid in the park….and so much more. Henry and Linda with The Atlanta Workshop in Nonviolence……and the beat went on…and still does. I loved those daze and will remember them a longer time to come. Thanks to all of you who shared the dream. Shane
